Being a Spiritual Scientist Episode #18
with Angela Bell

Angela Bell graduated from DSS in 2018 at the age of 87. The title of her practical treatise is Living-Intimately-Centered-In-God’s-Infinite-Loving-To-Serve: The Journey of the Transformation of a Life of Burdens into a Life of Blessings.

Born in 1931 in Brooklyn, NY during  the great American Depression to a mixed family of a Jewish father and a Swedish mother, Angela Bell was brought up culturally Jewish and loosely Christian. Her father's family started the Jews for Jesus movement.

Education was not a priority but survival was. She worked from the time she was twelve. She was fortunate to have a loving Jewish grandfather that laid down a foundation of loving until she was twelve when her grandmother died and he moved away.

Life was burdensome with a mother that favored an older sister and a father that favored a younger brother. She crossed the Brooklyn Bridge into Manhattan where she dwelt in real estate management and integrated housing on the West Side of Manhattan for the first time.

She studied with the Rudolph Steiner Institute in New York City on Fifth Avenue for a number of years.

Angela eventually married a trumpet player with the big bands and had two children: a boy with a genetic eye disease and a little girl. Motherhood had a deep and profound effect on her. It awakened her to unconditional love. She lived and worked in Manhattan well into her thirties.

She and her family moved to Hollywood, Florida, where she studied at Lindsay Hopkins School for two years and became State Licensed in Massage and Water Treatments. She opened her own clinic until she became very ill, near death. She began to actively look for a teacher to take her home to God. She was invited to do an MSIA Home Seminar. She walked in, and on the wall was a big picture of John-Roger, which turned into a fountain of Light. That caught her attention! She signed up for Discourses, an aura balance, and a Light Study. The disease went into remission in her first aura balance, and she was granted life through grace. She is now 94 years old.

Angela has studied with John-Roger for 40 years. She was called to move to California and John-Roger asked her to work at PTS where she was involved with the early days of the Peace Awareness Trainings (PATs).

When she left the seminary, she had a practice in a chiropractic clinic in Beverly Hills for 13 years. She was the first volunteer in prison for the Freedom to Choose Foundation and has been a consistent volunteer for over 20 years.

Angela has said that her life has been one of service and continues to be.
