A LOGISTICAL TOUR THROUGH A Peace Theological Seminary (PTS) E-MAIL CLASS

#1: I JUST REGISTERED FOR A PTS E-MAIL CLASS. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Congratulations! What a wonderful thing you have done to support yourself. Welcome!

When you register from our web site, you will receive online and by e-mail a registration confirmation containing important information on the e-mail class. Please take the time to read it throughly and follow the directions for confirming your intention to do the class with our PTS Internet Rep. You will then receive by e-mail a confidentiality form to sign and send to PTS or IIWP.

Once you have confirmed your intention to participate in the class and mailed your confidentiality agreement to PTS, you will be placed in the loving care of one of our facilitators--a dedicated team of ministers in MSIA who are committed to serving the PTS mission in cyberspace. The facilitator of your class will email you a few days before the class begins with a welcome and introduction.

#2: I'M A BUSY PERSON. HOW MUCH TIME WILL I NEED EACH WEEK TO COMPLETE THE CLASS SESSIONS?

Generally, you can anticipate spending 2-4 hours per week. One of the great things about these e-mail classes is you can do them in a variety of ways to suit your schedule. Some folks read through the class sessions as soon as they receive them, to scope out the terrain and schedule their time. Others set aside a block of time during the week (often on Friday or Saturday) to do the class in one sitting. You can experiment with your approach to find what works best for you. Whether the class takes you an hour or a day doesn't matter as much as participating 100% with the material and your experience. We all have the opportunity to discover what 100% means to us with each session!

#3: I TRAVEL FREQUENTLY. CAN I STILL TAKE THE CLASS IF I'M AWAY FOR A WEEK?

In our experience the classes work best when you can pick up your e-mail at least every other day. When you participate with these classes, you're part of a community in a very real sense of the word. Your presence is felt, and missed if away! If you can access your e-mail while on the road, travel may not be an obstacle. If you can't commit to checking your e-mail regularly during the week, you may want to look into PTS chatroom and/or correspondence classes until your travel schedule lightens up. We'll be here for you!

#4: I REALLY WANT TO PARTICIPATE, BUT CAN'T SIGN UP FOR ANY OF THE CLASSES THIS ROUND. HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE?

Not to worry! Classes are offered very regularly, so if your schedule doesn't allow for this round, you will have other opportunities. Opportunity truly knocks many times : ) All you need to do is log on to www.pts.org and check the course calendar. Or, consider taking a chatroom class which is one, 2 hour committment.

#5: "YOU'VE GOT MAIL!" HOW CAN I BE A GOOD CYBER-NEIGHBOR IN AN E-MAIL CLASS?

We have found that classes work best when participants commit to checking their e-mail at least every other day. This is not only neighborly for others--it's a good self-support practice. Checking your e-mail for class sharings is a great way to connect with the energy of the class throughout the week. It also gives you an opportunity to support and celebrate others as they share their experiences.

#6: ALL OF THE CLASSES SOUND GREAT. CAN I REGISTER FOR MORE THAN ONE?

In the United States, there is a potato chip advertisement that poses the challenge, "Bet you can't eat just one." As good as these classes are, our policy is to enroll people in one class per three-week time period. Perhaps you have had the experience of eating too many potato chips, or having your energy invested in so many areas that you feel scattered or unable to identify what you are learning that brings change and results. Sometimes you can have too much of a good thing! These classes are powerful, and it is really to support you that we limit registration in this way. And if you are worried that you might be missing something, please refer to #4.

#7: DO I NEED TO HAVE THE MATERIALS TO TAKE THE CLASS?

Materials are recommended for many of our classes and required for a few. The materials are woven into the class design in a way that supports you in going for the greatest value with your experience. The materials also provide you with tools and references that you can continue to use and work with after the class is complete. Consider the materials an additional gift you are giving yourself, to support you in receiving the greatest value in your participation with the class.

#8: THIS IS ALL NEW TO ME. WHAT IF I THINK I DON'T HAVE THE SKILLS TO DO THE CLASS?

Many of the folks who come to e-mail classes are new to the Internet, and new to MSIA. There is a lot of support available for you! The coordinator for our classes, our registration team and all of the email facilitators are here for you, and we work together to help you get comfortable with e-mail and the class format and content. We are available to answer your questions and help you feel right at home in the class. Support is just an e-mail away--and you can also contact PTS directly by phone at 323-737-4055.

#9: ENGLISH IS MY SECOND LANGUAGE. IS THAT A PROBLEM?

Not at all! Welcome! Bienvenido! Bem Vindo! Bienvenue! There is plenty of support for people who speak English as a second language. We are all moving to express the language of the heart and love, and that is universal! In our experience, love always finds a way--and we have always found a way to work with language to support understanding and upliftment in these classes. Just let us know--we are more than happy to give a helping hand : )

#10: HOW CAN I CONNECT WITH THE MSIA COMMUNITY?

Internet Classes are a great way to connect with the MSIA Community. Many people participate with the e-mail classes as a way to connect with the MSIA community, especially when they live in areas where there are no organized MSIA activities. The classes give you a way to participate in spiritual community, and experience the teachings with others. It is amazing what you can experience with just a few mouse clicks. The sense of community within these classes is very real and uplifting.

#11: I DON'T HAVE A CREDIT CARD. HOW CAN I PURCHASE CLASS MATERIALS?

There are a number of ways to contact MSIA. You can e-mail the sales and distribution department, order@msia.org, or call MSIA at 323-737-4055 and mail a check or money order to:
