RETREATS & WORKSHOPS

"It's interesting to look at the word `retreat.' We're really talking about `treat'—giving yourself a treat, doing good to you. To re-treat is to re-do good to you. You give yourself the chance to get away from all the bad that has built up around you and treat yourself and then re-treat yourself to all the good that is within. You get a chance to use the strength of the group as a loving support, to use the spiritual energies present to crack open some of the crystallized patterns you have built inside, and to have the energies of Spirit replace those negative patterns." — John-Roger

The following events are available in 3 or 4-day retreat or workshop formats unless noted otherwise.

INITIATES RETREAT TO THE KINGDOM OF GOD

(For Initiates Only)

Initiates in MSIA have a special relationship with the Mystical Traveler. In this course, students learn more about this relationship, including the Traveler's commitment to initiates and the initiate's responsibilities. Students also explore the many aspects of being an initiate and the qualities of various levels of initiation.

INNER WORLDS OF MEDITATION

In this workshop, John-Roger, President of PTS, and John Morton, Spiritual Advisor of PTS, take students through many of the meditations that John-Roger has presented through the book, Inner Worlds of Meditation. These experiences could include the flame meditation, the water meditation, the Tho and the Ra, and many more meditations, and represent an extraordinary opportunity for healing, upliftment, and touching into the energies of the Soul.

MEETING THE CHALLENGES WITH SPIRIT

(For Initiates or Ministers Only)

When one has committed to living spiritually, challenges can come as part of one's growth. Using much information from early seminars John-Roger gave, this course assists students in identifying the challenges of living spiritually and in overcoming them through such powerful keys as calling upon the name of God and looking at everything through the eyes of the Master.

MINISTERS RETREAT TO THE INDWELLING CHRIST

(For Ministers Only)

This course is specially designed to assist MSIA ministers in deepening their attunement to their ordination "through the Order of the Melchizedek Priesthood, the Christ, the Mystical Traveler Consciousness, and into God." The first part of the course provides students the opportunity to explore what it means to be given the high spiritual energy of ordination and what physical forms the ministry can take as ministers "do God's work in this world."

The focus then shifts to the part of the ordination that bestows a unique and special blessing on each individual minister. Through sharing in various exercises, the entire body of ministers present can receive of all the blessings.

This is a beautiful step for ministers to take toward loving their ministry more and realizing the spiritual blessings.

RETREAT TO THE CHRIST WITHIN

This course explores the lineage of MSIA through the teachings of John-Roger, the Bible, and the examples set by Jesus and his disciples. Students often find this course a profound way to discover and deepen their awareness of their divine heritage through the Christ Consciousness.

SANCTUARY WORKSHOP (Weekend Workshop only)

Students create an inner sanctuary through the process of creative visualization to bring forward from Spirit that which can be made manifest in this world.

SOUL AWARENESS DISCOURSES WORKSHOP (Evening Workshop Only)

The Soul Awareness Discourses are the foundation of the spiritual teachings offered in MSIA and, as such, are the "living bread" of all who are involved in MSIA. This workshop is useful for all students, as it focuses students' awareness on how the teachings in the discourses are working in their lives and how they can experience the teachings even more deeply.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISES

Spiritual exercises, the primary form of spiritual practice recommended for those studying MSIA Soul Awareness Discourses, are vital to students seeking to expand their awareness of Spirit. In this course, students explore techniques for enhancing their spiritual exercises and practice doing them in a supportive group setting.

SPIRITUAL WARRIOR SERIES

"When people ask me what a Spiritual Warrior looks like, I say, `Just like you.' It is what you are doing inside of you while you participate outside of you—a totally simple way of living, an internal harmony and balance."

From the book, Spiritual Warrior: The Art of Spiritual Living, by John-Roger

Those who are on the spiritual path offered by MSIA are being called to a higher level of spiritual responsibility. One way students can look at this is that they are being called to be "spiritual warriors." John-Roger has said that spiritual warriors use the sword of truth and that their weapon is awareness. In this series, students explore these and other ideas that support their standing in loving strength for Spirit.

Spiritual Warrior I: Forging the Armor (also offered to the public)

Spiritual Warrior II: Converging the Spirit

Spiritual Warrior III: The Anointed One

"When you have the mantle of the Spiritual Warrior in and around you, that's when you stand up inside as a great spiritual person, not as one who dominates, but one who selflessly serves with strength and purpose, as one who loves."

From the audio and video tape: "The Spiritual Warrior" by John-Roger

THE TAO OF THE TRAVELERS

Throughout time, the Travelers have come forward to show how humankind can positively change behavior by focusing on the eternally present Spirit that is within each person. This course is not about Chinese philosophy as a whole, nor is it about the times of Lao-Tsu. It is about the teachings of an ancient Traveler, Lao-Tsu, and a modern Traveler, John-Roger, and how these teachings can be used to create an uplifting, harmonious, Spirit-filled life.

WALKING IN THE LIGHT (Workshop Only)

In this workshop, John-Roger and John Morton teach students techniques, exercises, and processes to keep prayer alive for ourselves and others, to help clear our consciousness and our bodies, and to precipitate from Spirit that which can be manifest in this world. Each exercise is a magnificent gift in itself, and together they help us develop a richer and more joyful relationship with God.
