DOCTOR
OF SPIRITUAL SCIENCE
It is the intention of PTS, through this Doctor of Spiritual
Science (DSS) program, to assist students in moving to new levels
of expansiveness and awareness. Students have already experienced
the positive results that were obtained through the Master's Program,
and now they can continue achieving even greater rewards throughout
this new program. The DSS takes a daily conscious, continual focus.
It is about living and breathing the teachings as much as possible.
"There are two key ways to know if you're really following
in God consciousness or not: How you're not following is shown
by the limitations and restrictions and constrictions that you
put out. You often can feel them in your body. And they usually
lead to physical illness, emotional sickness and mental disturbance.
The way that you know you are in God's work is by how much you
are expanding and by how much more you are effectively 'doing
it.' You see, God created us and He didn't use any junk to do
it. Sometimes you want to take who you are as a creative being
and make junk, thinking that's going to be acceptable. At the
level we are working in this PTS doctoral program, I want to be
clear with you that it's not. The thing we're on the planet to
learn is discipline towards God's direction. That discipline is
not a punishment. It's joy. And it's a real thankful thing to
have."
-John-Roger
Like the Master's program, the DSS program is held one weekend
a month for nine months (usually October through June) each year.
The first two years are devoted to intensive course work. The
third year, a practicum year, is an opportunity for students to
devote time to refining, demonstrating, and completing their Practical
Treatises--the final paper required for graduation. In the third
year, students still attend monthly classes.
The DSS provides a supportive format for expanding spiritual
awareness and for the consistent and disciplined practice of the
Traveler's teachings.
Year One
The Multidimensional Human
Themes of the three quarters:
- Coming to Terms with Reality
- Becoming God's Partner
- Multidimensional Awareness
The first two years of course work includes the following six
classes:
1. Spiritual Exercises
Spiritual exercises are the primary spiritual practice recommended
for those studying in MSIA, and they are vital to students who seek
to expand their awareness of who they are as spiritual beings.
2. Building the Bridge of Awareness
Light Body is a series of movements designed to encourage students
to blend the Light and spiritual energies with the physical energies
of the body for balance, upliftment, and vitality. Stretching, flexibility,
strength, and awareness (both physical and spiritual) are all a
part of Light Body. Soul Journey explores qualities of the Soul
and how we use these qualities (or do not) in our lives; the Soul
Journey exercises encourage students to open more fully to Soul
awareness and to access that level more completely. Listening explores
what we listen to inwardly and outwardly, and how we can listen
more to Spirit and God. Seeing explores the ways in which we see
ourselves and how we can change that to more positive images that
lift our consciousness.
3. Navigating the Game of Life
Students create a matrix of their intentions, goals and purposes
as well as what is restricting and limiting them. Extensive tracking
is done that, in the course of the program, produces tremendous
insight, revelation, and positive change.
4. Clearing the Issues
Throughout the course it is emphasized that the students are the
Spiritual Scientists and their laboratory is their own selves. Therefore,
self-observation is a core part of the program. Clearing the Issues
is the class in which they work with the list of current issues
and negative patterns they have observed in themselves. The students
apply Controlled Kinesiology muscle testing to clear the issue,
with the over-all intention of expanding past their limitations,
restrictions and constrictions.
5. Spiritualizing the Consciousness
In this class the DSS student is given the opportunity to become
more available to the Holy Spirit by identifying, clearing, finding
the causes and closing those areas in their consciousness in which
there is an obstruction, or limitation to the flow of the Holy Spirit.
The form of muscle testing used in the PTS Doctorate in Spiritual
Science has been named Controlled Kinesiology Testing (CKT). The
word controlled is descriptive of the fact that the person whose
arm is being "tested" is the one in control, directing the investigation
and indicating when their arm should be tested. The entire procedure
and process are under the jurisdiction of the person being tested.
Various techniques are introduced throughout both years of the course
providing the DSS student with a wide range of techniques and tools
that they are encouraged to learn to use skillfully.
6. Aligning the Selves
This course is designed to assist students in integrating the basic
self, the conscious self, and the High self.
Year Two
The Multidimensional Human - Part II
"What's the main reason for the DSS class? It could
be answered two ways: the negative way is, what stops you from
seeing God? The other way is, what helps you get to God? If you
find out what's stopping you, that doesn't mean you cracked it,
but you are getting to God, that means you're already on course-correction,
and you are just on a timeline of fulfillment. And each person
may have a slightly different variation."
-John-Roger
Themes
of the three quarters:
- The Quality of Attention
- Creating Your Reality
- Multidimensional Awareness II
"What it comes down to, always and forever, is the
commitment to yourself. And that starts when, ten billion times
a day, ten billion percent, you commit to the upliftment and the
unfoldment that is your spiritual nature."
-John-Roger
The
Year Two course work is an extension of the Year One course work,
with virtually the same class titles and subjects. Students will
observe and apply each subject on deeper and more expansive levels.
Year Three
The Practicum
Students complete a Practical Treatise (a unique and original study
documenting the student's research, discoveries and conclusions)
on a topic of their choice. The Practical Treatise could be regarded
as a "how to" manual that other people can read and practice in
order to achieve predictable, measurable, repeatable results. Each
student will choose his or her topic during the first year of the
program, and continue to define and focus that topic in the second
year. The third year is devoted to practicum work on the tretise,
with the intent of completing, submitting, and gaining approval
of the Pratical Treatise by the end of the third year.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
1. Students seeking admission to the DSS program as a doctoral
degree candidate must have successfully completed the PTS Master
of Spiritual Science program. (The Doctor of Spiritual Science
degree is granted in California only, to those students who successfully
complete the course work in the California program.)
2. Students may also enroll in the DSS program as a "workshop
student" for personal development only and not for credit.
3. All potential students must complete and submit the PTS DSS
enrollment form and Letter of Intent.
4. All students must maintain an active subscription to Discourses
as well as the Soul Awareness Tape (SAT) series during the course
of the program. Students who have completed all 12 years of the
Discourses only need to have an active subscription to Soul Awareness
Tapes.
5. All students must tithe to MSIA throughout the three-year program.
6. All students must be approved for acceptance into the DSS program
by a PTS admissions panel.
7. All students must complete a Practical Treatise on a topic
of their choice that will be between 50 and 100 pages long. The
Practical Treatise is a unique and original study, documenting
the student's research, discoveries and conclusions. The Practical
Treatise can be regarded as a "how to" manual that other people
can read and practice in order to achieve predictable, measurable,
repeatable results. Each student will choose his or her topic
during the first year of the program, and continue to define and
focus that topic in the second year. The third year is devoted
to practicum work on the treatise, with the intent of completing,
submitting, and gaining approval of the Practical Treatise by
the end of the third year.
